I made this zebra flower pen for my little niece. She loves zebra. I chose this particular flower because of the big gem in the middle. This exact one was just for her and won’t be replicated 🙂

Peacock Flower pen
I made this flower pen arrangement for my sister. She requested the peacock feathers and this is how it turned out. I got an “OMG that’s gorgeous” from her. I also got many likes on Facebook. 🙂 I will be making another one to put in my store soon.

Cheetah Flower Pen
I made this cheetah pen today. The flower is cheetah and I added a cheetah accent gem to the middle of the flower. The holder is glass with a cheetah design. I have the pen standing up by inserting the pen cap in foam. The foam and the pen cap are covered in gold glitter and I also added brown glass accent rocks inside the holder. The pen is Bic and can be refilled. This would make a really cute gift for anyone who is into cheetah. 🙂

Getting Favorites Feels Good!
I got two items favorited this week! It sure motivates me to make more and add to my store. I feel so validated when I get a favorite. I feel like I’m not wasting my time or money. I’ve created something that someone else likes!
Hopefully things will start selling, but the good thing about all this is that I’m happy. I’m happy making the pens, taking the pictures, shopping for items, coming up with ideas for new designs, and updating this blog and my Etsy shop. It’s fun and I’m enjoying it very much!

Purple to Blue Ombre Flower Pens
I just added this flower pen arrangement to my store. I love the purple to blue ombré color on the glass holders and the charger rimmed with rhinestones is beautiful. The pictures don’t do it justice.
My sister and I put this together at the store. First, finding the glass holders, then coming upon the charger in the Halloween aisle!

Eiffel Tower flower pen
This is my newest addition to my Etsy online shop. I got the idea from my sister. She saw the vase and said I just had to make a flower pen with a white flower. She said that a lot of kitchen décor is Paris themed and people would love this vase and pen on their counter. I hope they do!! Crossing my fingers that I sell it!

Craft Fair Cancelled due to Rain :(
The craft fair I planned on attending today was cancelled due to rain. At least I know where it is so I won’t get lost next month. I plan on participating in September and I wanted to see how others set up as this will be my very first one. I will just have to prepare the best I know how and learn from whatever I do wrong.

Getting started on another Safari Floral Pen arrangement
These are the supplies I use to make the Safari Floral Pen arrangement. I used to use a different kind of pen, but switched to Bic because they are better quality and they make the finished product able to be refilled with a new ink stick.

How it started…My mammogram
I had to get my mammogram done this year because my doctor made me. I am at the age where you need to get one every year, yes, I am 40…actually 41. Anyway, I went to the clinic and was given forms to sign. I looked for a pen and motioned to the receptionist that I needed one. She pointed at a pink rosebud flower arrangement and I pulled one out and it was a PEN!!! I was amazed, astonished, so tickled! If you knew me personally, you would understand. I love pink, I love cute things, I still love Hello Kitty! While I was waiting my turn to be squished :), I looked up how to make the flower pens, and vowed to my husband, who was there with me–thank you hubby–that I was going to make some for my desk at work.
Later that day I took off to Hobby Lobby with my niece and spent a lot of time deciding what flowers I wanted for my pens and even more time deciding what flowers to pick for my sister’s pens that I was planning on giving her for her desk at work. I found the right flowers, vases, and supplies and made them that night! I posted them on Facebook and got lots of likes and a “Wow” from my boss, so I made her one too.
I made the colorful one for me, and the other two for my sister and boss.
My boss liked hers so much she said I should sell them. She posted on her own Facebook that I was making them. Her enthusiasm sparked something inside me and I decided to go for it.

What started it all
I made this pen set for my sister. Then my boss liked it so I made her one. When she saw it she went nuts telling me I should sell them. And so I took her advise and have been learning something new everyday.
